▲ The factories emitting carbon dioxide.
Because of too many power plants and cars, It’s impossible to prevent 1.5℃ of warming. A research group at UC Irvine said that we’re now likely to sail well 1.5℃ of warming which was the goal by the Paris climate accords, even if we don’t build an additional power plant, factory and vehicle. The scientists conducted the study by gathering and analyzing global data sets tracking major carbon dioxide sources. They said we would pump out about 660 billion additional metric tons of greenhouse gases, above the 580 billion tons that is estimated by the end of the range limiting warming to 1.5℃. Unless construction of additional sources emitting carbon dioxide isn’t stopped, 1.5℃ of warming could be expose 14% of the global population, melt about 5 million square kilometers of Arctic permafrost and destroy more than 70% of the coral reefs.
